About The Hallquist-Blair Family Tree
Please sign in to see more. After being stationed at the US Naval Subase in Groton, Connecticut during 1982, I received a letter from my mother that included a simple genealogy of my mother's family going back to John Chambers, born in New London, CT in 1784. Coincidentally, New London was just across the river (the Thames) from Groton. That letter started my search into my family's history. Over the past 26 years I've discovered a large volume of family histories and have met many "distant cousins." It's been the best hobby I've ever been engaged in. So far, to date I've discovered links to historical figures like John Knox, Charlemagne, many kings, queens, and other royals. I've also discovered the simple folks who have scratched out a living, raising families and often taming the lands they settled. Into the mix there are presidents, inventors, doctors, lawyers, soldiers, educators, preachers and priests, saints and sinners. Our family is a rich and diverse tapestry of God's wonderful creation. We, as a family have been greatly blessed. I have been greatly blessed.
